All venue owners and operators are now under a duty to co-operate to assist in controlling the risks of asbestos. They must:

• find out whether the venue contains asbestos, and if so, what condition it is in;
• assess the risk (is it likely that fibres will be released)
• make a plan to manage the risk.

Note this duty requires the venue owner to manage any asbestos, not remove it.
