The Stage reports on 2 August that a famous television script writer, Sally Wainwright, is being sued by playwright Tricia Walsh-Smith who alleges that the characterisations, premise and title of the ITV1 series were copied from a stage play she wrote in the late 1980′s. Ms Wainwright, Lime Pictures and ITV refute the claims and are reported to have stated their intention to defend the case vigorously.
